In Tales of the Alhambra, Sleepy Hollow author Washington Irving (1783-1859), considered by many to be one of the fathers of American literature, relates the fascinating popular myths relating to the Alhambra, which he collected during his visit to Spain in 1829.

The writer had the privilege of living in the Alhambra itself while writing the book and, after some research in the Granada University Library archives, he created a literary recreation written by a romantic traveller enraptured by the beauty of Granada, its landscapes, and its people.

The book includes 32 pages of full colour illustrations from the Alhambra and its surrounding as well as period engravings.
