Folded Map
Caldera de Taburiente National Park on La Palma at 1:25,000 in a series of large, topographic survey maps, each accompanied by a guide. The maps use the topographic survey of Spain from the country’s civilian survey organization, with contours at 10m intervals, vivid relief shading, and colouring/symbols to indicate various types of terrain and vegetation. Extensive overprint highlights recommended hiking routes and other tourist information, including accommodations, campsites, sport and leisure facilities, bird watching locations, places of interest, etc. The maps have a 1km UTM grid, plus latitude and longitude margin ticks at intervals of 1’.
Each title is accompanied by a guide, illustrated with numerous colour photographs, which provides descriptions of recommended hiking routes within the park and its surrounding area. The guides also have lists of useful addresses, including accommodation, notes on the park’s history, flora and fauna, and safety rules and recommendations.
IMPORTANT – PLEASE NOTE: MAP LEGEND AND ALL THE TEXT IN THE GUIDE ARE EITHER IN SPANISH OR IN ENGLISH, AS INDICATED IN THE TITLE. WHERE ONLY A SPANISH EDITION IS LISTED ON OUR WEBSITE, NO ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDITION HAS BEEN PUBLISHED.
IN THIS TITLE: a large map covering the heart of the island. On the reverse there are satellite images of the whole island and the park, notes on both short local and long distance hiking paths across the island, and notes on its history and legends. The accompanying 73-page guide, IN ENGLISH, describes 10 walks within the park from one to seven hours long, all with routes profiles, plus six more routes in the surrounding area. Also included are recommendations for mountain biking, potholing, and water sports.
