Exceptionally detailed map of the Flanders battlefields of World War I, with monuments and cemeteries annotated by nationality, colour coding for different stages of the war, all cross-referenced to a 64-page guide to the area.

The map is double-sided and covers the whole of the Western Front in Flanders, from the North Sea to main battlefields of Passchendaele, Ypres and Messines. Front lines and directions of main attack routes are all colour coded according to the by different stages of the war, from the Battle of the Yser in 1914, through Passchendaele, to the final advance in October 1918.

Markings for memorials and war graves indicate the combatant nations (B for Belgian forces, C for British/Commonwealth, F for French and D for German) and are cross-referenced to the 64-page booklet which accompanies the map.

Other symbols indicate bunkers or trenches with public access, mine crates, museums and documentation centres, tourist information and visitors’ centres, etc. The base map has elevation colouring with rivers, marshes and wooded areas, and shows the current road and rail network.

The accompanying 64-page illustrated booklet includes descriptions of the main sites, plus lists of monuments and war graves by regiments and, where appropriate, by names of individual soldiers. Also provided is a list of contact addresses for tourist and information centres.

All information is in Flemish, English, French and German.
