Stunning satellite view of Belgium from Planet Observer, a French company specializing in processing satellite imagery and production of true natural colour mosaics of continents, countries and various smaller regions. Their “Terra Cognita” data base is the first global natural colour satellite imagery mosaic composed of 8600 images.

Belgium produced from photographs taken by the Landsat 5TM satellite from 800 km above the earth. Many man-made features are clearly visible, the extensive port facilities of Antwerp, the canals joining Bruges and Ghent with the sea, as well as natural features such as the Meuse valley or the wooded slopes of the Ardennes.
