Crete at 1:140,000 on a large, double-sided map from Kompass, Europe’s largest publishers of walking maps, highlighting the course of the E4 long-distance route including several variants along its course across the whole length of the island.

Unlike on most Kompass maps, topography here is presented only by relief shading based on satellite imagery, supplemented by numerous spot heights plus names of peaks and mountain ranges.

Road network includes local tracks and gives intermediate distances on most secondary routes. Also shown are country paths, with an overprint highlighting the course of the E4 long-distance trek and its variants, as well as a selection of other hiking trails.

Symbols mark locations of various places of interest, including campsites, beaches, archaeological sites, etc. Names of towns and villages are in both Greek and Latin alphabet. Geographical features and places of interest highlighted on the map are in Latin alphabet only.

The map has latitude and longitude lines at intervals of 10’. Extensive index lists all locations in both scripts. Map legend includes English.
