Cusco region at 1:110,000 on a double-sided map from ITMB with street plans of Cusco and Aguas Calientes, an enlargement for the Inca Trail and a plan of the ruins at Machu Picchu, plus on the reverse a road map of southern Peru and a street plan of central Lima.
On one side is a detailed map at 1:110,000 of the Cusco region, with altitude colouring, contours at 100m intervals and plenty of names of various topographic features such as mountain ranges, peaks, etc. The map shows surfaced and dirt roads, plus local mountain tracks. Railway lines are shown with stations. Symbols indicate locations with tourist accommodation, campsites and archaeological sites. Coverage extends along the Rio Urubamba beyond Machu Picchu to Santa Teresa, and south-eat to Yaurisque and Oropesa. The index lists Inca ruins and larger towns.
An enlargement at 1:50,000 shows the area between the Km 84 railway station - the bus drop point and Machu Picchu - Aguas Calientes. Contour lines here are at 200m intervals. The map highlights the Inca Trail, the trekking route along the Rio Urubamba, camping sites and archaeological remains, and shows local railway stops. Neither the main map nor the Inca Trail enlargement has geographical coordinates.
Also provided is a large, clear street pan of Cusco indicating selected tourist accommodation and various places of interest, a small plan of Aguas Calientes, a plan of the ruins at Machu Picchu, plus a map of railway connections in southern Peru.
On the reverse is an indexed road map of southern Peru at 1:1,500,000 extending north to include most of Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Hyahuash. A large inset provides a street plan of central Lima highlighting locations of selected accommodation and embassies, places of interest, etc.
