Inland waterways of Britain on an overview map of the whole network, classifying canals according to the widths of the locks and indicating the fully navigable stretches of rivers. Enlargements are provides for special areas.

The main map covers England and Wales at 1:625,000, presenting the navigable waterways on a base with simple altitude colouring, names of main geographical features, plus road and rail connections. Three areas are presented on enlargements in greater detail: Norfolk Broads, the Black Country (Birmingham - Wolverhampton - Walsall) and North-West England with the Cheshire Ring (Manchester to Chester). Also included is an enlargement showing the Gran Union Canal within London. The canals of Scotland are presented on a separate inset at approx. 1:1,000,000.

The waterways show locations of locks, indicating closely spaced groups, stop lock and flood gates, etc. The routes are annotated with distances between junctions, the number of locks and travelling times between points, as well as with the minimum depth and headroom. Also marked are locations of waterway museums and routes under restoration at the time of the publication of this edition in mid-2009.
