The Inland Waterways Map of Great Britain by Collins / Nicholson at 1:550,000 . This single-sided cruise-planning map provides coverage of the broad and narrow canals, and navigable and tidal rivers of England, Wales and Scotland. Includes newly restored and opened canals and rivers. One of a number of products by a respected publisher dealing with British inland waterways.

Map detail shows locks and lock flights, tunnels, aqueducts, mileage indicators, boat hire bases and museums of interest to boaters. Text highlights prominent local hazards and relevant local information.

The main map covers most of England (as far north as the Derwent at Workington and the Tees at Middlesbrough). Many of the waterways are colour-coded to refer to the seven Nicholson guides available for Great Britain. Further information, maximum craft dimensions and contact details are provided for these colour-coded areas and also for many navigations not covered by Nicholson guides. Lists are also provided for national navigation authorities and British Waterways regional offices.

Insets show:

Central Scotland, including the Forth and Clyde, Union and Crinan canals (same scale as main map).

The Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness (same scale as main map).

Enlarged insets of Birmingham Canal Navigations, the London area and Norfolk Broads for greater detail.

Major towns and cities, railways, motorways and main roads, mountain and hill ranges (with relief shading), and major lochs and lakes are given for reference.
