Iran and Tehran on a double-sided map from the Gitashenasi Institute which combines an overview of the whole country with a street plan of the capital and tourist information, including hotel recommendations, etc. On one side is a somewhat basic map of the country showing its network of main roads and railways. Symbols highlight places of interest, towns with tourist accommodation and locations of petrol stations. All place names are shown in Farsi and Latin alphabet. The map has no topographic information beyond main rivers. Latitude and longitude lines are at 2º intervals and the map is indexed, although not all the locations are listed in it. Map legend is in Farsi and English.

On the reverse is a street plan of central and northern Tehran, with names of main streets and districts shown in both scripts. The plan has no street index but includes lists of 58 hotels, 83 embassies, 21 museums, 21 international airline offices and 78 places of interest.

Both sides have panels with English text on the country’s topography, fauna and flora, climate, ethnic groups, governments, etc., plus notes on Tehran itself. Also included are 38 diagrams showing road distances between Tehran and other cities.
