Kazan’ on a street plan from the Omskaya Kartograficheskaya Fabrika (Omsk Cartographic Works) with mapping from Roskargografia combining coverage of the whole city with more detailed enlargement of the city centre.

Map legend includes English but all place names on the map and additional information on the reverse are in the Cyrillic alphabet only.

The main plan covers the city at 1:25,000, indicating its administrative subdivisions and names of various districts. Next to it, an enlargement presents the city centre in greater detail at 1:10,000. Both plans show metro stations, railway lines with stations, plus a very wide range of services and facilities indicated by symbols including hotels, “transport booking offices”, petrol stations, banks, grocery shops, etc, etc, even hairdressers or “photosalons”! Most of these are cross-referenced to the lists on the reverse side of the map which show their names and full addresses.

The reverse side also includes a street index, a road map at 1:100,000 of the city’s environs, an indexed plan of Kazan’s Kremlin fortress, a historical chart from 1005 to 2005, plus general notes about the town.

Apart from the English translations in the map legend all the text is in Russian.
