On one side is a street plan of central Khartoum, with on the reverse the districts north of the Blue Nile and Omdurman, all shown at the same scale of 1:15,000. Colouring indicates residential or industrial areas, markets, etc. Only main streets and districts are named, with traffic routes indicated along the remaining streets.

Each side is separately annotated, as appropriate, with lists of various ministries, embassies, hotels, restaurants, airline offices, clubs, bookshops, and other services, all marked on the plan by symbols.

All place names are shown in both Latin and Arabic alphabets; names of institutions and facilities are in English and Arabic.
