Road map of Peru with 10 street plans plus enlargements for the country’s most visited areas: Cuzco and the Sacred Valley, the Inca Trail, Cordillera Vilcabamba, Cordillera Blanca, Arequipa volcanoes with the Colca Canyon and the Nazca lines.

The map of the whole country at 1:2,200,000 shows in some areas, particularly in the Amazonian department of Loreto, more villages than can be found on other maps. Unfortunately, somewhat crude presentation of the road network makes this map difficult to read and in that respect less useful than other alternatives. A separate diagram shows the country’s three main north/south routes: the Pan-American Highway and the parallel inland mountain route and jungle route, with main locations and connecting minor roads.

The map's main value lies in its numerous insets shown on the reverse side. A large, general street plan of Lima with its outer districts and main streets is supplemented by an enlargement for the city centre. Further plans cover the central areas of Cuzco, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huaraz, Huancayo, Iquitos and Trujillo. All the plans have a list of main places of interest highlighted on them.

More insets provide enlargements of the country’s most visited areas:

- Cuzco and the Sacred Valley along the Urubamba/Vilcanota River with local roads and archaeological remains

- a contoured map of the Inca Trail highlighting campsites and archaeological sites

- a generalized map of the Cordillera Vilcabamba west of Machu Picchu with trails, campsites, peaks and archaeological sites

- a map of the Rio Santa valley with roads and tracks across the Cordillera Blanca and numerous peaks and lakes

- the Arequipa - Cotahuasi area, including the Colca Canyon, with local roads, rivers and peaks

- a map of the Nazca lines area cross-referenced to small icons showing 30 main images

The value of all the street plans and other insets is limited by the absence of any indication of their scale, but they do provide information not often found on other maps of Peru. All the text is in Spanish only.
