The plan covers just the central district of the city with its main sights, extending westwards from the Termini railway station and the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano across the Tiber to the Vatican, Trastevere district and Villa Doria Pamphilj; north/south the coverage is from Villa Borghese Park to Terme di Caracalla.

Recommended sights are highlighted and other places of interest are prominently marked. The map also shows selected car parks. Metro stations are not marked on the map itself but diagram of the city’s metro and rail network is included. Cartography is from the well known German publisher of street plans, Falk Verlag. Street index is next to the map.

On the reverse are publishers’ recommendations for the city’s top 25 sights, with contact details, opening times and access by public transport. Also included are recommendations for eating out, shopping and entertainment, plus notes on using public transport, etc.
