Zanzibar at 1:107,000 is an indexed tourist map of the country with additional street plans and enlargements of national parks, reserves and popular regions. Road detail distinguishes untarred roads and includes selected tracks and minor roads, and shows intermediate driving distances on main routes. Locations where petrol stations can be found are also indicated, and scenic routes are highlighted and the international airport is shown. The publisher’s preferred approach to convey most effectively the best routes to the locations and regions of interest is to reduce distracting details. Consequently, compared with some other maps for the same region, this map shows no elaborate representation of general relief, although highland areas are indicated and named, and some peak heights are marked. Swamp regions are marked, and reserves and national parks are clearly highlighted. Symbols show places of interest; ruins, caves, dive and snorkeling sites, selected hotels, lodges and campsites. The map is indexed and annotated with regional climate information charts, and includes a chart showing distances between important towns.

On the reverse are enlarged maps of several areas of interest: around Zanzibar, around Stone Town and Pemba Island. There are also town plans of Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar Stone Town, as well as mini route maps of central Mkoani, Chake Chake and Wete.
