The guide starts with an introductory section on driving in such a demanding terrain, accompanied by extensive tables listing various facilities available in private camping and caravan parks, as will as in national parks. Also provided are lists of dump stations and visitors’ centres.

Fifty most spectacular routes across the state are highlighted on separate detailed maps (scales vary), and are annotated with full, place by place descriptions and information on various facilities, and illustrated with numerous colour photos. The maps give GPS waypoints for important road junctions.



Also included is an indexed road atlas of the whole state at approx. 1:2,326,000, with more detailed coverage of the more densely populated south-western corner, at approx. 1:556,000. The maps show the state’s road network, indicating 4WD only tracks, with a wide range of symbols highlighting various facilities, including accommodation and fuel supplies, places of interest, etc. Latitude and longitude lines are shown at 2° intervals and at 30’ intervals on the more detailed maps.
