Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and East London Road Atlas at 1:500,000 from Map Studio, including the Garden Route, Route 62 and the Karoo, with 25 street plans, GPS waypoints for 120 road junctions, numerous places of interest, etc.

The atlas covers most of the Western and the Eastern Cape Provinces, extending beyond East London to Mthatha (Umtata) and north to Middelburg. Topography of this interesting mountainous region is shown by altitude colouring (rather too finely graded to be really informative), with major spot heights and passes marked on the maps. National parks, nature reserves and other protected areas are prominently highlighted.

Road network distinguishes between tarred and untarred roads, shows toll routes and plazas, gives distances on secondary and other important local roads, and indicates which junctions are included in the list of GPS waypoints at the end of the index pages. Railway lines are shown with stations and local airports are marked.

Symbols indicate tourist accommodation, tent camps, caravan parks, wine farms, bird sanctuaries, whale watching sites, diving/hiking/canoeing sites, ship wrecks, etc. Additionally the maps have extensive overprint highlighting numerous and varied places of interest, all named. The maps have no geographical coordinates printed on them but GPS waypoints are provided for 120 road junctions.

Street plans cover Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London Knysna and Mosel Bay (one pages each), with quarter-page plans of Beacon Bay, Franschhoek, George, Grahamstown, Hartenbos, Hermanus, Infanta, Jeffrey’s Bay, Kei Mouth, Kenton-on-Sea, Montagu, Oudtshoorn, Port Alfred, St. Francis Bay, Sedgefield, Stellenbosch. Struis Bay, Swellendam, Wilderness and Worcester.

Also provided are three pages of useful phone numbers for tourist offices, accommodation, nature reserves, farms, etc, plus overview road maps of the region and the whole of South Africa.
