Ecuador on a large, double-sided at 1:600,000 from Freytag & Berndt with bold relief shading and colouring providing a very good representation of the country’s topography. A large inset shows the Galapagos at 1:800,000.

The map divides the county north/south with a very generous overlap between the two sides. In addition to the relief shading, graphics show swamps and mangrove areas and volcanoes are marked. National parks and other protected areas are prominently highlighted. The map shows the country’s road and rail networks, indicating driving distances and locations of petrol stations on main routes, and marks local airports. Also shown are internal administrative boundaries with names of the provinces, as well as oil wells and pipelines.

Various places of interest are prominently highlighted. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at intervals of 30’. The map is indexed and has a multilingual legend which includes English.

A large inset covers the Galapagos at 1:800,000, clearly showing the island’s volcanic structures, naming various bays, canals, etc., and indicating camping facilities.
