The most comprehensive road atlas of Europe: A4 hardback, 6 cm or nearly two and a half inches thick (and correspondingly heavy!), with street plans of over 60 cities. All the sections are colour coded for easy access. Multilingual map legends and all the text include English.

The opening section of the atlas lists Europe’s top 500 best sights, ranging from interesting towns to great works of art and natural sites. The following pages provide an overview of the main routes across the whole area covered by the atlas with mapping at 1:3,500,000.

The bulk of the atlas is taken by mapping at 1:500,000 covering western and central Europe, including the whole of Scandinavia and the Baltic States. Maps are arranged either by country or by region (Benelux. Baltic States, parts of the Balkans) and can be easily identified by their international vehicle registration codes. Each section is followed by an index, showing all localities with their postal codes. Belarus, Ukraine, Russia south and west of Moscow, Turkey and Israel are covered at 1:1,500,000.

Detailed presentation of the road network includes driving distances, toll roads, % gradients, winter closures, caravan restrictions, scenic routes, etc. Railway networks, including motor-rail facilities, car ferries and passenger ferries are also shown. National parks are prominently marked and places of interest highlighted. Topography is indicated by relief shading with names of mountain ranges, peak heights, etc.

The final section of the atlas contains over 60 street plans. Major cities have both a detailed plan of the city centre and an overview map at 1:100,000 of their environs. Each city has a separate street index at the end of the whole section.

Also included is a table of speed limits, main traffic signs and alcohol consumption limits for each country.
