Pocket-size, spiral bound road atlas of Japan from Reise Know-How, with numerous street plans and a basic phrasebook. The atlas uses the cartography of the publisher’s highly acclaimed World Mapping Project, also available from our website in as a folded map (see below).

Altitude colouring presents the topography, selected peak and pass heights are marked and swamp areas are shown. Road network includes minor local roads and shows driving distances on motorways and main routes. Railways, local airfields and ferry routes are marked. Symbols highlight numerous places of interest, including, temples, national parks and nature reserves, beaches, skiing areas, etc. Particularly interesting locations are indicated.

Names of main cities are shown in Roman and Japanese alphabets. All other names are transliterated. Latitude and longitude grid is at 1° intervals. Map legend includes English.

The atlas also includes basic street plans highlighting accommodation facilities and places of interest in Kyoto and Osaka (each with a plan of the central area plus an overview map), Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Kobe, Matsuyama, Sapporo, Sendai, Takamatsu and Yokohama.

For Tokyo the atlas has an overview plan showing main roads, enlargements for the city centre plus Shibuya - Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Uneo - Yanaka areas, and a diagram of the transport network.

The atlas has an index of place names, and a tri-lingual phrasebook: Japanese script with a pronunciation guide into English and German.
