Jordan at 1:730,000 is an indexed map with additional street plans and enlargements of popular regions on the reverse. The publisher has chosen to concentrate on creating a map which will primarily be of use for a tourist navigating between main points of interest as opposed to stressing more detailed cartography.

National, main, minor roads and tracks are clearly marked, as are major parts of neighboring Israel’s road network and the national roads and tracks into Jordan from Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Syria. Airports and dry rivers are shown.

In keeping with the publisher’s emphasis on a general navigational, tourist related map resorts, ruins and reserves are all specifically highlighted, along with sites of particular interest.

Also included on the map are small charts from a cross section of places in the country indicating average temperatures, levels of rainfall and hours of sunlight for each month, a calendar of events throughout the year, a table indicating distances between major towns and some basic language tips.

On the reverse are street plans of Amman (detailing hotels and embassies), Aqaba, Madaba and Al-Karak, maps of Umm Qais, As Salt, Umm al-Jimal, Wadi Rum, Petra, the King’s Highway and the Dana Nature reserve.
