New Zealand Motorhome and Camping Atlas from Hema in an A4 spiral-bound format, combining a comprehensive list of over 1200 sites with a road atlas of the whole country, including street plans and special maps of national parks.

North and South Island are covered separately, with the lists of campsites arranged by region. The comprehensive lists grade each site according to its category (serviced campsite, motorhome/caravan park with or without a dump station, informal camping, roadside rest area), indicating what facilities can be found there. Each entry gives contact details and GPS coordinates of the site.

The atlas section uses the cartography of Hema’s excellent road atlases, shown here at 1:350,000 approx., and presents the country’s road network, including unsealed local roads and vehicle tracks. Main tourist routes such as Twin Coast Tourist Route, Thermal Explorer Route or, Surf Highway 45 are marked. A wide range of symbols indicate numerous and varied sport and recreational facilities, wineries, etc. Topography is shown by relief shading with names of mountain ranges and peak heights. National parks and other protected areas are prominently marked. All the maps are annotated with colour-coded numbers of the entries in the campsite section and have GPS coordinates. Also provided are enlargements showing environs of main towns, plus street plans of city centres.

In addition to the index for the atlas, a separate campsite index is cross-referenced both to the atlas and to the campsite section, and a list of dump station is also included.

An introductory section covers New Zealand’s seven national parks and provides general information and tips for 20 top things to do.
