New Zealand’s North Island at 1:1,000,000 on an indexed road map from Hema with on the reverse several street plans and more detailed maps of the island’s main cities, their environs, and national parks.

On one side is a road map of the North Island, including the northern part of the South Island. The road network shows motorways, plus state highways and major or minor roads differentiating between sealed and unsealed surfaces. The map also highlights the islands’ six sightseeing tourist routes: the Pacific Coast, Thermal Explorer, Twin Coast, Forgotten World, Surf and Classic NZ Wine Trail. Railway lines are included and selected hiking trails are also marked.

Symbols mark various places of interest, information centres and skiing areas. Topography is shown by subtle relief shading with names of mountain ranges. National Parks are other protected areas are prominently highlighted. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at intervals of 30’. The map is indexed and is accompanied by a distance table.
