Romania Road Atlas at 1:250,000 from Freytag & Berndt in an A4, spiral bound format, with over 50 street plans, including all the main Black Sea resorts, an extensive index, a distance table, and information about border crossings.

Exceptionally clear, well drawn cartography is from Dimap, whose range of hiking maps of Romania can also we found on our website. Relief shading with peak heights and names of mountain ranges, plus graphics for marshes, etc, especially in the Danube delta, show the topography. National parks and other protected areas are prominently marked.

Detailed presentation of the road network ranges from motorways to unpaved country tracks and shows petrol stations, rest areas, overnight accommodation and border crossings. Railways are shown with stations and indicate narrow gauge lines. Local airports are marked and the maps also show the country’s administrative divisions.

Symbols highlight various places on interest, including UNESCO World Heritage sites, centres of folk art and wooden churches, natural curiosities and botanical gardens, etc. In a country of such diverse cultural past, symbols for religious buildings indicate different denominations: Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Calvinist, Lutheran, Greek-Catholic or Unitarian, plus synagogues and mosques. In Transylvania many towns and villages also have their historical Hungarian names

The maps have latitude and longitude lines at intervals of 10’. Map legend includes English. Extensive index lists all locations with their postcodes.

The atlas includes street plans of central areas in all main towns as well are plans of Black Sea holiday resorts, including Mamaia, Eforie, and other centres between Constanta and Mangalia. All are annotated with places of interest, car parks and other facilities, accommodation, etc.

Also included is a map of the environs of Bucharest showing road access to and main routes across the city, plus a comprehensive distance table and a list of border crossings with opening times and other relevant information.
