Northern Thailand on a light, waterproof and tear-resistant map from Berndtson, highlighting the area’s 15 top sights, with street plans of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son, plus enlargements of the Golden Triangle and environs of Chiang Mai.

On one side is a map of the northern part of the country, extending south to just beyond Uttaradit. Road network includes dirt tracks and indicates routes passable only in dry weather. Driving distances are shown on main roads. Local airports are marked. The map highlights the region’s national parks and other protected areas, with symbols showing other places of interest. Also indicated are areas providing opportunities for outdoor activities: canoeing, rafting, motorcycle treks, mountain biking, trekking or caving. The map has no geographical coordinates.

On the reverse is a large plan of Chiang Mai, extending out to the international airport and the university campus. Also included are plans of Chiang Rai and Mae Hond Son. Enlargements show the Golden Triangle (1:500,000) and the environs of Chiang Mai (1:300,000) in greater detail. All are annotated with places of interest, etc.

All the maps and plans are indexed, including separate lists of places of interest, hotels, etc. Also included are graphs showing the region’s climate month by month, plus general tourist information.
