Topographic atlas of Belgium at 1:50,000 from the Nationaal Geografisch Instituut/Institut Géographique National, in a French language edition including a 130-page tourist section with descriptions of places of interest. The atlas is printed on high quality paper and presented in a 25x33cm ring-binder format.

The atlas presents topographic mapping of the country at 1:50,000 plus enlargements at 1:10,000 for centres of 18 main towns, all with markers highlighting over 1500 places of particular historical interest or artistic merit.

1:50,000 maps have contours at intervals varying according to the terrain: from 2.5m in the coastal areas to 10m in the Ardennes. In addition to detailed classification of the road and rail networks and the usual geographical information presented in topographic mapping at this scale, the atlas also provides information on land use. Margin ticks show latitude and longitude at intervals of 1' and the Belgian Lambert projection coordinate values at 1km intervals. Map legend is in Dutch, French and German. An extensive index lists full coordinates for all the locations.

The tourist sections provides descriptions of all the places of interest highlighted on the maps, including practical information on opening hours, website addresses, etc. A separate index lists the highlighted sites and a list of regional and provincial tourist offices. All the text is in FRENCH only.
