Paris on a single-sided, indexed street map at 1:15,000 from Insight. This large map shows major tourist sites and transport routes, a Metro diagram and an overview of the Paris region on enlarged road maps.

Main roads and many minor roads are named (and numbered, where relevant), and mainline and Metro lines and stations are displayed. In the margin of the map, information is provided on access, distances and travel times to and from surrounding areas, such as motorways, airports and nearby towns and cities. A Paris Metro and regional rail diagram inset is provided for central areas and many car parks, one-way streets are displayed on the main map. Pedestrian zones, selected flights of steps (e.g. at the Sacré Coeur) and footpaths through major green spaces are marked for reference.

The map is annotated with general tourist information such as: tourist offices, monuments, museums and galleries, squares, parks and gardens, large and/or famous hotels, shopping centres, theatres, and major sporting and music venues. Other places of interest are marked, such as places of worship, cemeteries, embassies, schools and universities, post offices, libraries, hospitals and swimming pools.

Areas of Paris are also named, i.e. Montmartre and the Marais, but arrondissements are not numbered or delineated.

For the coverage of the map, see the image alongside this description. From the centre of the map at the Quai du Louvre, the map stretches 5.25 km (3.26 miles) to both the north and south and 6.15 km (3.82 miles) to both the east and west. Covers the whole of the Périphérique (Ring Road), with the city gates named clearly. Also includes large parts of the Bois de Boulogne and the Bois de Vincennes.

Without the insets and the index, which appears beneath the map, the map itself measures 83 x 70 cm.

Also included are two insets:

An enlarged overview of the region around Paris at 1:800,000, showing major approaches to the city by road and rail, airports, national parks and many places of interest. Extends to Rouen, Compiègne, Fontainebleau and Chartres.

A more enlarged overview of Paris and its suburbs at 1:200,000, with more detail for rail and road networks, and places of interest. Extends to cover Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, Disneyland Resort and Versailles.
