A tour around the Sierra Nevada presented in an English language guide from Editorial Penibética, with contoured mapping at 1:40,000, detailed descriptions of each stage, route profiles, numerous colour photographs, etc.

The guide divides the route into 19 stages of between 2h 30’ and 7h 30’, covering it in an anti-clockwise direction starting from San Jéronimo, just south-west of Granada. The description of each section is divided into shorter segments which provide instructions and is accompanied by a detailed contoured map at 1:40,000 overprinted with a route (most presented as larger, fold-out page), a route profile, plus a summary of the distance, time, change in altitude, terrain and environment, degree of difficulty, etc. Separate panels provide descriptions of various interesting places and features, including fauna and flora, picturesque villages, irrigation channels and mines, etc.

An introductory section provides a general description of the area and the end of the book there is a summary listing visitors’ centres, botanical gardens, etc. all with contact details, plus mountain refuges with capacity, etc. The guide is published on high quality paper and is illustrated throughout with numerous colour photos.
