The Adirondacks and the north-eastern part of New York state at 1:1:389,220 on a detailed, extensively indexed road map from Jimapco, highlighting numerous recreational facilities, plus enlargements for main towns.
On one side is a road map at 1:285,000 of the Adirondacks covering an area between the Canadian border and highway 90, and extending from the Vermont border to Utica and Rome. The map has relief shading to show the region’s topography, with plenty of peak names, rivers and lakes. Colouring indicates, according to map legend, “canoeing areas, intensive use areas, primitive areas, wild forests, wilderness areas, conservation easement areas, and areas not yet determined”. The map shows the region’s road and rail networks, plus local administrative boundaries. Extensive range of symbols highlight campgrounds, various recreational areas from fishing and climbing to seaplane rides and wildlife watching sites, historical and cultural sites and monuments, etc. The map has no geographical coordinates.
On the reverse 30 panels show local towns in greater detail enlarged to 1:63,360. Several panels provide separate index list of municipalities/communities, train stations, lakes/rivers/streams, mountain peaks/natural land forms, recreation and fun sites, campgrounds, golf courses, cultural attractions, etc.
PLEASE NOTE: the same main map but at a reduced scale and with fewer additional panels covering local towns is also available as an Adirondack Quickmap.
