      BaSEMAP

BaSEMAP is a brand new product from Infoterra that combines their LiDAR height data with Ordnance Survey's MasterMap® topo layer in one single file. BaseMap is supplied in ESRI shapefile or MapInfo TAB/ MID/ MIF for use in a GIS or in AutoCAD (if converted to dxf/ dwg using AutoCAD® Map).

The LiDAR height element will include both ground and building heights where both are available, and ground only where the building data is unavailable. There are certain areas in the country for which neither dataset is available.

For customers purchasing this product online through Stanfords Portal we have included a colour-coded view layer to help identify availability at the point of order:

      • red denotes availability for both ground and building heights.
      • blue denotes availability for ground heights only.
      • white denotes no availability for either.

Please note that the image above is an example of what can be achieved if the building footprint from the OS MasterMap® topo layer is combined and extruded with the height in a software package such as AutoCAD® Map. The purchased file is not delivered with these heights already rendered as a 3D model.

The Product comprises building footprint vector polygons (extracted from the Ordnance Survey MasterMap® Topographic Layer) that are assigned an absolute and relative height from Infoterra’s extensive archive of Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and Digital Surface Model (DSM) Data Products.

      Key Features

      • OS MasterMap® Building TOIDS are used to help create the product. OS MasterMap® is a continuously maintained, accurate, seamless vector database covering the whole of Great Britain, with each feature having a unique identifier or TOID. Use of this TOID against each building vector object makes the product easy to integrate into existing systems using OS MasterMap data

      • A range of Height Data Products are used to create the Product including approximately 15 000km2 of high accuracy urban centre LiDAR DTM/DSM 1m and 2m data, 50 000km2 of DSM2m surface data and 155 000km2 of DTM5m ground model data

      • The Height Data Products are being updated and improved over a 5 year period

      • More than half of the 41 million buildings and structures in Great Britain are attributed with height information and ground height data is available for a further 40%

      Product Description
