Desktop Mapping

These pages are now predominantly support pages for existing DTM customers who, for whatever reason, can't migrate to Stanfords Portal. We would recommend that all new customers order online through Stanfords Portal rather than through DTM as Stanfords Portal offers:

  • lower prices for some data products
  • a much larger product range
  • more advanced features
  • a much more robust site now that Ordnance Survey plan to retire DTM in Nov 2011.

      Whilst product information can be found on the relevant product page, we have created a separate Userguides page to support all our Stanfords Portal self-serve customers.       Desktop Mapping

      Desktop Mapping (DTM)

      With the recent changes to Ordnance Survey Pricing & Licensing, which don't apply to DTM, coupled with the fact that OS will retire the DTM site in November 2011, we would recommend that all existing and new customers now use Stanfords Portal for all online orders.

      These pages are therefore predominantly for those DTM customers who for whatever reason can't migrate to Stanfords Portal. We will accept new registrants but we wouldn't recommend this as the best option as a) you may end up paying more for, data products in particular, and b) the product range in Stanfords Portal is far superior.

      For existing customers it has come to our attention that some of you may be having issues around viewing the large-scale mapping. This is invariably due to a Java compatability problem and we would recommend that you download the word document below and follow the instructions. The fact that Stanfords Portal has none of these Java compatability problems is another reason to migrate.

      If you are a new customer and still would like to register for DTM please use the following process:

      1. Check that you have the technology to run  DTM on Windows or Mac
      2. Please read our terms and conditions .
      3. Fill in our registration form
      4. Secure log in details will be forwarded to you within 2/3 days after receipt of your registration form along with a confirmation email (46 KB) that includes a simplified process manual.
