We are pleased to announce that we have successfully ingested and uploaded the new OS Pricing and Licensing models and the new prices are now live in both Stanfords Portal and through our Service Centre in Manchester. As before, prices through the Service Centre remain a little higher than through Stanfords Portal to reflect the fact that our team are processing the order but, that aside, both sets of prices are now very significantly less than under the previous model - in some cases 70% less.
Also, to mark these changes, we have negotiated an excellent discount of 40% off the list price for Autodesk's Map 3D upgrade package .This upgrade will enable users to not only create 3D models, but also convert GIS format files such as ESRI shape into dxf/ dwg CAD files. Please contact our Manchester Service Centre on 0845 880 3730, or at mailto:digital@stanfords.co.uk, if you would like to place an order.
1. Ordnance Survey large-scale vector map data (dxf/ dwg/ shape file) through Stanfords Portal
Following the Pricing and Licensing changes Stanfords Portal is the best way to source 1:1250/ 1:2500 vector map data online. The data will now be supplied under one unifying licence that replaces the separate IBU and PDB Licences, however the very popular archiving and sharing elements of the old PDB have been incorporated into this new version. Also, under the new terms the data can be purchased for up to 3 years for the first time ever. The mapping is supplied in CAD compatible formats (dxf or dwg) or as a GIS compatible shapefile.
For customers requiring standard planning application areas, the site offers 1,4,9,and 25 hectare pre-defined sections that are "cut out" automatically by the system and this is therefore the quickest, easiest and most cost effective way to buy standard sized vector map data. For those customers requiring site-specific areas, Stanfords Portal also offers a sophisticated user-defined tool that allows customers the freedom to either cut out an irregular polygon, draw a square or rectangle or even upload a shapefile.
Finally, those customers who registered for the old Desktop Mapping (DTM) system to take advantage of the PDB Licence should now migrate to Stanfords Portal as this data will cost you more in DTM whatever the size of the coverage. This is due to the fact that the DTM system sits outside of the Licensed Partner agreements and we are therefore not allowed to offer the new lower pricing structure through the DTM site.
- Registration for the site is instantaneous.
- Purchased map files are available for immediate download from your own secure download area.
- The data is fully licensed and in copyright.
- The site offers a range of additional and complimentary datasets such as imagery and 1m/2m/5m height data and now, for the first time, a combined map and height product:BaSEMAP .
- Users have unlimited access to free training and support from our Manchester Service Centre.
2. Ordnance Survey large-scale vector map data (dxf/ dwg/ shape file) through our Service Centre
Our Service Centre is primarily focused on offering training and support to our large and growing number of self-serve customers. However the team do still offer an ordering service either for one-off customers, those customers who order sporadically (and therefore don't want to invest the time to learn a new system) or those customers who are simply too busy to self-serve and therefore prefer to outsource the work. As a result the mapping costs slightly more from our Service Centre to reflect the work required by us to produce it. Orders can be placed by telephone, email or fax and are usually dispatched the same day.
- Monday-Friday 9.00 - 6.00.
- Free telephone support.
- Expert service as you would expect from an OS Premier Partner.
