      OS VectorMap Local (VML)

      OS VectorMap Local is designed, above all else, to give customers maximum flexibility, especially in terms of styling and scale. Given the file formats, and the software required to use them, OS VectorMap Local is primarily a product for business customers.

      • OS VectorMap® Local allows you to create your own detailed backdrop maps. You can highlight and display specific features on the map as well as overlaying your own information, displaying exactly what you want. Please note that OS VectorMap products are currently only available in GIS compatible file formats such as ESRI shape file and MapInfo TAB. AutoCAD users could make use of the data but would first need to convert it into a CAD compatible format in AutoCAD Map 3D.

      • Formats: ESRI Shapefile; MapInfo TAB; MapInfo MID/ MIF.
      • Data structure: Vectors.
      • Attributes: Roads, railways, vegetation, boundaries, urban extent, buildings.
      • Scale: 1:3000 to 1:20000.
      • Supply: Online as downloadable files through Stanfords Portal (depending on file size). Otherwise on DVD/ CD.
      • Coverage: Great Britain.

       

      There is a minimum charge of £25 + vat for up to 1km2; the price thereafter is £1.30 + vat per km pro rata. Please note that for areas greater than c 4km2 the data file will be too large for your Stanfords Portal download area and will therefore need to be sent to you on DVD/ CD. Postage and Packing costs apply.
