UKMap® is a modern, highly detailed and feature rich mapping database. Its innovative design offers users a flexible choice of integrated map layers within a single geographic information source. Based on 1:1,000 scale topographic mapping, UKMap® accurately locates buildings, garages, property boundaries, roads, trees and a multitude of other features. What’s more, it comprises addresses, a retail database including above ground usage, building heights, a wide range of places of interest as well as aerial photography and digital terrain model layers.
At present we are able to supply the data in 1km2 tiles in a range of common industry
formats such as ESRI, MapInfo and Oracle for GIS users and DXF/ DWG for CAD, Microstation and Vectorworks users . Within the dataset customers will find not only the base 1:1000 topographic mapping but also the following complimentary layers:
- 1:1000 scale vector map overlay containing topo features such as tree canopies, walkways and power lines. Also, the first level of all multi level retail centres are stored in this layer.
- points layer providing the link between the attribute tables of UKMap® and the polygons of the Base and Overlay layers.
- address layer containing two related tables: UCC to Basic Land and property Unit to address.
- points of Interest providing geographic and non geographic features, each of which is classified into one of 18 categories. These include community, sports and leisure, retail.
- height data that includes the base and top of the building above sea level, along with the difference to give the height above local ground.
- aerial photography at 12.5cm high resolution, full colour and ortho rectified.
- Digital Terrain Model (DTM) at 5m to complement the photography layer.
With the GIS compatible formats the features are displayed in a series of attribute tables whereas in the CAD files we have interpreted these same attributes as colour themed layers within the dxf and dwg themselves, as exemplified in the animation at the top of this page.
At just £140 + vat per km2 this multi-layered product represents excellent value for money and, coupled with the flexible licensing on offer, is ideal for those customers wishing to source a comprehensive and fully-formed geographical understanding of their sites.
