Planning map for the pilgrim's route to Compostela.
Camino de Santiago, the main route of the Way of St. James across northern Spain in a pocket atlas using Michelin’s road mapping at 1:150,000 with additional route profiles, town plans, accommodation details, etc.

Starting in St-Jean-Pied-de Port on the French side of the Pyrenees, the atlas covers the main route to Santiago de Compostela through Pamplona, Burgos and León. Each page presents one 20-30 km stage of the route, highlighted on an extract from the Michelin’s road mapping at 1:150,000 and accompanied by a page with a route profile annotated with details of accommodation and other services. For each pilgrims’ hostel the guide gives opening times, number of beds and contact details. The maps clearly indicate which part of the route is on local roads, country tracks or footpaths. Given the scale of 1:150,000 and only relief shading as a background, the maps are not, of course, as informative as more detailed topographic mapping.

The atlas also includes street plans of central Burgos, León and Santiago de Compostela, highlighting tourist information offices, churches and other places of interest. The atlas is indexed and has a multilingual map legend which includes English.
