With a length of 180km and an average width of 50km, this archipelado is formed by more than fourty small islands and the main island: Isla Grande de Chiloé. It is the biggest island group of Southamerica, after the Island Tierra de Fuego. In this region, there are more than 300 rain days per year and the flora is dominated by plants that can grow only with a sufficient supply of water. Also the faune is unique, there are pudús (deers), monitos del monte (opossums) and many more.
