Laminated, waterproof and tear-resistant, tourist plan of Istanbul, highlighting top 30 sights, with additional plans of the Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar, plus maps of the city’s environs. The main plan at 1:11,000 covers the old part west of the Golden Horn beyond the city walls to the Fatih Bridge and the motorway access from the European part of Turkey. Coverage of east of the Golden Horn extends to the Dolmabahce Palace and the Convention and Exhibition Centre. The plan shows tram and metro station and ferry terminals, gives names of various districts and neighbourhoods and highlights mosques and other religions establishments, museums, monuments, selected accommodation, etc. Top 30 of the city’s best sights are prominently marked, and detailed plans are provided for the Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar.
On the reverse, a street plan at 1:23,000 covers the Üsküdar district in the Asian part of the city. Also included are: a map of the whole of Istanbul at 1:150,000, showing motorway connections, including access to the Atatürk Airport and extending along the Bosphorus to Sariyer; a diagram of the city’s public transport network; a road map of the north-western part of Turkey at 1:2,000,000 extending south-west to Izmir; and a small administrative map of the country.
Both the street plans and the road maps are indexed, with separate lists of streets/localities and of various facilities and places of interest.
