Melbourne Compact Street Directory from UBD presenting the city at three different scales, with an additional guide section, events calendar and an extensive index of streets, places of interest, various services, etc.

The atlas covers Melbourne’s city centre in great detail at 1:6,500 with tramway routes, one way street and traffic lights, names of important buildings and/or businesses, selected house numbers, etc.

The surrounding inner suburbs are presented at 1:13,000 with the outer suburbs (including Geelong and the eastern rim of Port Philip Bay) at 1:26,000. The maps show the network of roads and streets with information on CityLink tollways with electronic tolls, freeways and motorways, primary and secondary arterial roads, local access roads and one way streets, as well as proposed freeways and roads. Roundabouts, traffic lights, fixed speed cameras, car parks and bridges with clearance heights are all shown. Ferry routes, cycle ways, walking tracks, and rail lines are all marked, and suburban stations are named and printed with their distance from the central Flinders Street Station. Usual public buildings, entertainment sites, tourist destinations, parks and reserves are detailed on the atlas, as are the location of motels and caravan parks.

Extensive indeed includes separate lists of airfields, bays and beaches, caravans and mobile home parks, golf courses, hotels and motels, places of interest, race courses and sporting venues, shopping complexes, universities and colleges, theatres and cinemas, and wineries.

Melbourne Compact Street Directory is introduced with a ‘Cityside Guide’ which gives the visitor an overview of the places to visit, explore, eat, drink and shop that are on offer in the city.

Also provided are detailed indexed plans of the city’s universities: University of Melbourne, La Trobe, Deakin, Monash, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Swinburne, and Victoria, and well as an enlargement of the Philip Island and a plan of Melbourne International Airport.
