The Way of Saint James – The Pilgrim’s Practical Guide, from Spanish publisher editorial everest, is a plastic box set containing 48 conveniently arranged and independent sheets to the route’s stages, a comprehensive companion guide book and a free lanyard.

48 thick paper sheets present maps (scale between 1:100,000 and 1:150,000 approximately), and descriptions to the stages of The French Way of Saint James, the extensions to Finisterra and Muxia and the Aragon Route.

Altimetric profiles and details of resources such as lodgings, restaurants, bike repairs, outdoor sports stores and hospitals are contained in text on the reverse of the sheets. QR-Codes and information are provided which enable you to have access to the information of ‘The Way’ using your mobile phone apps. Sheets on which to collect your stage stamps are also contained in the pack. Additional tips are given for those cycling, as opposed to walking, the route.

The Northern and Portuguese Roads, The English Road and the Via de la Plata are also featured although these individual maps at a scale between 1:1,150,000 and 1:2,500,000 approximately, will only give an overview.

The illustrated guide book contains bound versions of the sheet maps and profiles, more in-depth information on the history and sites of the pilgrimage routes, as well as listings for en-route pilgrim resources, places to stay, eat and drink and other useful addresses. Alternative pilgrimage routes are looked at in a separate chapter and town centre street plans are given where applicable.
