Getting Around Tokyo Pocket Atlas and Transportation Guide from Tuttle, a comprehensive guide to travelling in the city and its environs, including Yokohama and Mt Fuji, illustrated with maps and diagrams.

The 194-page guide is divided into 10 sections: a district-by-district street atlas, general notes on navigating Tokyo’s “Byzantine Transportation Network”, arriving at the city’s two airports, Tokyo’s JR lines, the subway system, private railway lines, bus routes, plus visiting the Disney Resort, Yokohama, the Kamakura, and Hakone and Mt Fuji.

The street atlas, with 18 double-page plates, shows administrative districts in different colours and divided into numbered sectors and blocks. On each map important individual buildings, institutions and facilities, including selected hotels, are indicated by symbols and/or named. Expressway and main roads are highlighted. The plans also show railways, subway and monorail lines with stops.

The sections describing various public transport options are supported by detailed diagrams of the relevant lines, including suggestions for convenient street level interchanges. Chapters about visiting locations outside the city include detailed road maps.

Also provided is a separate folded, double-sided street plan of Tokyo with a diagram of the rail and subway system.
