Hawaii in a series of waterproof and tear-resistant, indexed regional maps of USA from Reise Know-How’s highly acclaimed World Mapping Project, combining detailed presentation of the road network with topographic and tourist information. Altitude colouring with spot heights shows each region’s topography, with national parks and other protected areas, as well as American Indian Reservations and restricted entry zones clearly marked. Road network indicates toll roads and scenic routes. Railways and, where appropriate, ferry routes are marked. The maps show both names and boundaries of local counties. Symbols highlight a variety of places of interest, including historical sites, amusement parks, natural features, golf courses and wintersport areas, etc. Each map is double-sided, includes an index of localities, and has a latitude and longitude grid. Map legend includes English.

IN THIS TITLE: each island is presented separately, with a small inset showing the whole group. Road network indicates tracks recommended for 4WD vehicles. The maps have botth a latitude/longitude grid at 15' intervals and a UTM grid.

PLEASE NOTE: current editions of two maps in this series, this title (Hawaii) and map No. 1 (North Western USA), give road distances in kilometres; on all the other maps they are shown in miles.

”World Mapping Project” is an extensive series of maps at varying scales, aiming to provide coverage of countries and regions worldwide using clear, well presented cartography with both topographic and tourist information. California (No.6) in this series has been published in Britain by Rough Guides with the same original cartography and is listed on our website in its Rough Guide edition.

Sample of cartography:

Some elements of the cartography e.g. minor roads and contours are printed relatively faintly compared with other information such as major roads. Although clearly legible on the map, the lower contrast of these details has made them less obvious on the reproduction of the cartography presented here.
