North Eastern USA at 1:600,000 in a series of waterproof and tear-resistant, indexed regional maps of USA from Reise Know-How’s highly acclaimed World Mapping Project, combining detailed presentation of the road network with topographic and tourist information.

The map is double-sided to provide the best balance between detailed scale and a convenient size sheet, dividing the region east/west with an overlap between the sides. Coverage extends westwards to Lake Michigan and Indianapolis, and south beyond Washington DC to Richmond in Virginia.

Maps in this series have altitude colouring with spot heights to show each region’s topography, with national parks and other protected areas, as well as American Indian Reservations and restricted entry zones clearly marked. Road network indicates toll roads and scenic routes. Railways and, where appropriate, ferry routes are marked. The maps show both names and boundaries of local counties.

Symbols highlight a variety of places of interest, including historical sites, amusement parks, natural features, golf courses and wintersport areas, etc. Each map includes an index of localities and has a latitude and longitude grid (in this title at intervals of 1°). Map legend includes English.

PLEASE NOTE: current editions of two maps in this series, No. 1 (North Western USA) and No. 12 (Hawaii), give road distances in kilometres; on all the other maps they are shown in miles.

”World Mapping Project” is an extensive series of maps at varying scales, aiming to provide coverage of countries and regions worldwide using clear, well presented cartography with both topographic and tourist information. Some titles have been published in Britain by Rough Guides with the same original cartography and are listed on our website in their Rough Guide editions.

Some elements of the cartography e.g. minor roads and contours are printed relatively faintly compared with other information such as major roads. Although clearly legible on the map, the lower contrast of these details has made them less obvious on the reproduction of the cartography presented here.
