United States NGS Executive Style Wall Map in an enlarged 175 x 122m (69” x 48” approx) size, encapsulated version designed to present current information in colouring reminiscent of antique maps, with shades of beige and brown.

The maps show the administrative division of the country, with state boundaries picked out in different colours. Town symbols indicate state capitals. Road network gives numbers of interstate highways and main state roads.

The background base map has relief shading to show mountain ranges. Additional graphics and/or colouring are used to indicate deserts, swamps, etc, and principal national or state parks and forests. Rivers, mountain chains, plateaux and numerous other geographical features are named. Peak heights are given in feet. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at intervals of 3°.

This size is also available on paper without the encapsulation.

The same design is also printed in a smaller 111 x 78cm / 43” x 30” size, also sold on paper or encapsulated.

LAMINATED and ENCAPSULATED WALL MAPS:

- LAMINATED wall maps have a thin layer of plastic usually applied to the printed side only. They can be written on with suitable marker pens without any damage to the map but, unless laminated on both sides, they are not damp-proof.

- ENCAPSULATED wall maps are sealed between two sheets of plastic. They are more rigid and heavier than laminated maps of the same size. They are damp-proof and do not crinkle in humid conditions. Encapsulation gives the map a shiny surface, similar to being displayed behind glass.
