Topography of Armageddon: A British Trench Map Atlas of the Western Front 1914 - 1918 is an impressive, large format paperback atlas reproducing nearly 200 original trench maps covering the British sector. All the maps are reproduced in black and white only and many are annotated with additional notes describing how they were produced or drawing attention to particular features shown on them.

A large grid taken from the Index Map printed by the Ordnance Survey for this series shows how individual plates included in the atlas fit together. Also provided are five pages of notes by the author, Peter Chasseaud, and a preface by Alan Sillitoe.

Please note: many maps included in the atlas are also available in the Belgium/France: World War I Trench Maps of the Western Front series of individual maps published by G.H. Smith. Many of these titles are reproduced with colour markings for individual trenches and other features.
