Denmark Road Atlas from MairDumont in an A4 spiral-bound format, with 36 street plans and the publisher’s innovative system of providing peel-on/peel-off stickers for making selected locations more prominent when navigating. Coverage extends south to Hamburg.

MairDumont’s distinctive cartography boldly stresses main roads and motorways in strong colours and selected towns in large letters, but also shows minor roads and villages in considerable detail. Road information includes motorway services, toll roads, seasonal closures, traffic restrictions, gradients, scenic roads and tourist routes, etc. Rail network shows stations on main lines.

Picturesque towns and villages as well as other places of interest are highlighted with star rating. The maps show locations of campsites, youth hostels, selected hotels, etc, and mark selected hiking trails.

Topography is shown by subtle relief shading, with plenty of names of various geographical features: mountain and hill chains, valleys, local regions, etc. National parks and other protected areas are prominently marked. No geographical coordinates are provided.

Map legend includes English.

Also provided are street plans at 1:20,000 or 1:15,000 for city centres of 36 main towns including Malmö and Helsingborg in Sweden, a map and a detailed table of ferry connections, both internal and with neighbouring countries, plus a table of distance and driving times. The index lists all locations with their postcodes.

A special feature of MairDumont’s range of “Marco Polo” maps and atlases is a set of seven peel-on/peel-off (po-po) stickers which can be placed on the maps to help with navigating, and removed without damaging the surface.

In common with many atlases published in Central European countries, this title also includes road mapping of the whole of Europe, here at 1:4,500,000.
