Normandy - D-Day, 6 June 1944 from the IGN is one of the commemorative maps published to mark the 60th anniversary of the D-Day. The main map, a present day road map of the area at 1:100,000, is overprinted to show the regiments, divisions etc. involved in the invasion and their respective landing points along the Normandy coast. The ground held and battle fronts after 24 hours are indicated and a small separate map shows the progression of the front up to 18th August 1944.

An inset shows the locations of various British, American and Canadian forces in southern England prior to the invasion. Another inset highlights monuments, cemeteries and museums in Normandy, including several British cemeteries around Caen and Bayeux.

The legend and additional text briefly outlining the Operation Overlord plan is in German, French and English.
