The Giants Causeway Situated along the North coast of Ireland, the geological masterpiece, The Giants Causeway, is an area of breathtaking beauty and tangible Irish heritage. Ireland’s first World Heritage site,the causeway is formed of roughly 40,000 basalt columns created by a volcanic eruption. These columns appear as stepping stones leading to the sea and Irish legend has it that Fionn mac Cumhaill built the causeway to walk to Scotland.
