Printed on waterproof, tear-resistant paper, this indexed map shows Jamaica on one side and a large plan of Kingston on the reverse, plus inset street plans of five other towns. The road map of the country at 1:250,000 uses elevation tinting and spot heights (in feet) to show the general relief. Other physical details include reefs and marsh areas. National parks are marked, also county and parish boundaries and names. Road information includes secondary roads, and intermediate driving distances are marked on main routes. Some petrol stations are also indicated. Other transport details include railways and stations, airports and airfields. Symbols show the locations of beaches, selected hotels, golf courses, sugar estates and locations of interest. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 15’ intervals. The map is indexed and includes a road distance chart.
On the reverse there is a large, indexed street plan of most of Kingston at 1:23,000, extending to Forest Hills in the north, the university campus in the east, Portmore gardens in the west and the international airport in the south. Detail includes one-way streets, railways and the ferry link across the harbour. District names are marked and symbols denote a variety of tourist features and services e.g. information offices, bus stations, hotels, places of interest, notable buildings, post offices, petrol stations, hospitals, churches and shopping areas.
Insets around the road map show smaller street plans for Spanish Town, Ocho Rios, Port Antonio, Montego Bay and Mandeville.
