Jordan at 1:700,000 on an indexed road map from the Hungarian publishers Catrographia, with on the reverse a street plan of Amman including an enlargement covering the capital’s central districts.

On one side is Jordan at 1:700,000 with coverage including most of Israel. International boundaries are shown with the whole of the West Bank and the Golan Heights as occupied territories. All place names are in Latin alphabet only. Topography is indicated by light relief shading with graphics for deserts, lava fields and salt pans.

The map shows road network with desert roads and tracks, giving driving distances on main routes. Railway lines are included and local airports are marked. Also shown are oil pipelines and aqueducts, as well as internal administrative boundaries with names of the provinces. Symbols highlight various locations of interest including archaeological remains, viewpoints, nature reserves, campsites, etc. The map is indexed and has latitude and longitude lines at intervals of 30’.

On the reverse is a street plan of Amman at 1:30,000 indicating main traffic arteries and highlighting places of interest. The city centre is shown in greater detail at 1:15,000. The plan is not indexed.
