Street Plan of Ulaanbaatar (Ulan Bator) at 1:10,000 highlighting the city’s tourist facilities, places of interest, etc, with on the reverse side a detailed road map of the capital’s environs, both with English text and names in Latin alphabet.

On one side is a plan of the central part of the city indicating main traffic arteries and highlighting by small drawings and/or symbols various official buildings and facilities of interest to visitors: hotels, restaurants, banks, museums and monuments, shopping centres, foreign embassies, and even hair and beauty salons or dry cleaners. An inset shows road access to the international airport. The index provides only lists of the various institutions highlighted on the plan, many with phone numbers.

On the reverse is a lovely topographic map at 1:200,000 of the city’s environs, with contours and altitude colouring, plus plenty of spot heights. The map shows the area’s road and rail networks, including local tracks, and highlights tourist accommodation and places of interest. The map has latitude and longitude lines at intervals of 10’.

Both on the plan and on the road map all the text and names of institutions and facilities are in English. Place names are shown only in Latin alphabet, with a small glossary provided for the road map.
