Indexed, waterproof and tear-resistant road map of Mozambique and Malawi with topographic and tourist information, plus plans of central Maputo and Lilongwe. The map, published by Reise Know-How as part of their highly acclaimed World Mapping Project, is double-sided to provide the best balance between a good scale and a convenient size sheet.

The country’s topography is presented by altitude colouring with contours, spot heights and names of mountain ranges. Swamps, seasonal lakes and coral reefs are indicated Road network includes unsurfaced local roads and seasonal tracks, and indicates driving distances on main and secondary roads. Border crossings and locations of petrol stations are clearly marked. Railways, local airfields and ferry routes, both coastal and on Lake Nyasa, are also shown and internal administrative boundaries are presented with names of the provinces.

National parks and nature reserves are prominently marked, indicating entry gates. Symbols highlight various places of interest, selected hotels or lodges and campsites, viewpoints, beaches and diving sites, medical facilities, etc. Oil wells and pipelines are also shown. The map has a latitude and longitude grid at intervals of at 1°, plus an extensive index of localities with a separate list of national parks and reserves. Map legend includes English.

Also included are street plans of central Maputo and Lilongwe indicating various tourist facilities and places of interest.

Some elements of the cartography e.g. minor roads and contours are printed relatively faintly compared with other information such as major roads. Although clearly legible on the map, the lower contrast of these details has made them less obvious on the reproduction of the cartography presented here.
